I just don’t know how we can reconcile this difference. And also don’t ever let Sterling know you say ‘get your goat’- she’s trying to bring it back and I am thwarting her the best that I can.
Spoilers for Into Darkness. (So the read-more html isn’t working. That’s neat. Good job tumblr.)
But alright. Hear me out. I understand the flaws with the movie. There’s a numerous amount: Kahn’s the poster child for White Boy. It was predictable. The lines were predictable. The plot wasn’t original in any fashion. Some of the things that happened made NO SENSE (Kahn not knowing about the torpedoes when he beamed them on board, Uhura telling the Klingons that they were in danger and her team was there to help {though I like to pretend that this part was because they still don’t understand Klingons}, why Admiral Marcus was so hell-bent on war, ect.). There were also points that were dropped entirely (like the fact that Bones tells Kirk that his vitals are messed up and then they just dropped it wtf. Oh, and the ramifications of Kirk having Kahn’s blood, and what exactly they’re going to do with 72 cryogenically frozen Space Aryans).
But see- here’s the thing- I loved it anyway. Despite the flaws. Because, as I said in a different post, I’m 100% about the emotion. I love the reasoning that characters have behind what they do, I love watching characters develop from huge massive shits to little shits (ala Kirk). I love being able to watch this movie, and see the difference between when Pike says “son” and when Admiral Marcus says “son.” I like the subtleties of the movie, and how they played out. And Sulu being totally bad-ass all the time. That’s what I went to see the movie for, really.
So. Um. I guess I understand where you’re coming from in not liking the movie? But I also think we totally judged it on different criteria.
The more John Cho passive aggressively talks shit about the Star Trek movies, the more I fall in love with John Cho

friendly reminder that star trek: into darkness is awful
but you should still see it if just to pick apart how it’s so bad.
friendly remind that you’re the literal worst and you spelled my name wrong.

the way it should be, famous songs from animated movies performed in the language of the place the stories are set in or the character’s mother tongue {listen}
